The Orchestra
An Orchestra is a group of people that play amazing music. There are four families of instruments. The families of instruments are called woodwind, strings, brass and percussion.
One of the orchestra families is the string instruments. The string instruments are played by plucking the strings or rubbing the bow over the strings. My favourite instrument is a violin.
Another family of instruments is called the percussion. They are played by being shaken or hit. My favourite percussion instrument is the xylophone.
The bassoon is the woodwind family. Originally all woodwind instruments were made with wood. To play a woodwind instrument you blow into the mouth piece.
Lastly there is the brass family. They are made of metal.
When these instruments are played they make lovely music.
